Priorities for SD49

Where
I stand.

My job at the Capitol —

Show up. Listen first. Write policy that's honest about trade-offs and accountable about results. Below is what I'll fight for, organized into four areas. Click any plank to see the work.

01

Health, safety
& democracy

When our neighbors are threatened, we all are. That's why I'll fight to:

Defend science-based public health

  • Support evidence-based medicine — including vaccines and other public health interventions.
  • Invest in workforce pipelines across nursing, EMS, and behavioral health.
  • Treat public health infrastructure as essential infrastructure.

  • Uphold transparency for all law enforcement operating in Minnesota.

Defend reproductive freedom & healthcare

4 commitments+
  • Advocate for a state Equal Rights Amendment protecting reproductive healthcare and LGBTQ+ rights.
  • Preserve the sacred relationship between patient and provider from political interference.

  • Require all law enforcement in Minnesota to display visible identification.
  • Prohibit immigration enforcement in hospitals, schools, and houses of worship without a judicial warrant.
  • Establish a community stabilization framework for families hit hardest by federal actions.
  • Ensure federal actions in Minnesota are subject to state oversight and judicial review.
02

Education & our
kids' future

Every child deserves the chance to succeed — teachers who see potential, not obstacles. That's why I'll fight to:

Strengthen public education

3 commitments+
  • Fully fund public schools, special education, and early childhood programs.
  • Support safe, inclusive schools that partner with families from all backgrounds.
  • Expand school-based mental health services.

Protect kids from technology harms

3 commitments+
  • Invest in community-based violence prevention programs.
  • Promote safe firearm storage to reduce youth access.
  • Support background checks and extreme risk protection orders.
03

The care economy
& working families

Work should pay. Families should thrive. That's not complicated. That's why I'll fight to:

Support working families

3 commitments+
  • Expand affordable childcare and early learning.
  • Support family caregivers through paid family and medical leave.
  • Invest in programs that allow families to care for aging loved ones with dignity.

Protect workers

4 commitments+
  • Defend the right to organize and collectively bargain.
  • Enact protections for workers in the emerging AI economy.
  • Support pathways to family-sustaining jobs.
  • Ensure safe working conditions.

Preserve Medicaid

3 commitments+
  • Strengthen Medicaid as the backbone of Minnesota's safety-net system.
  • Use data to address fraud while protecting patient access.
  • Improve care coordination and manage costs effectively.
04

Environment
& infrastructure

Clean air, clean water, safe roads — the basics aren't luxuries. That's why I'll fight to:

Protect our environment

3 commitments+
  • Enforce science-based regulation of air and water quality.
  • Accelerate transition to clean energy while supporting workers in transition.
  • Invest in climate-resilient infrastructure.

Make government work

3 commitments+
  • Build public dashboards tracking spending and outcomes.
  • Strengthen oversight to prevent waste and fraud.
  • Coordinate housing, health, transportation, and education policy toward measurable family outcomes.
